What Teachers Are Saying About Youth in Government(YIG)
"YIG has given so much to my students.  We have seen our program grow from four students to 50 in just four years! This is a testimonial to the quality and experiences this program offers kids. I have seen shy, reserved kids become more confident in their speaking skills and opinions. Even the most vocal kids have potential for growth.  YIG allows them to hone their research, persuasive writing, and debating skills."
Stephanie Messinger, Charter School of Wilmington

"As both an alumni and current YIG advisor for the past decade, I have personally witnessed how YIG positively transforms the lives of students. My sixth grade students often begin the program as timid and shy, but grow into confident young adults. They draft legislation, lobby for important issues, and most importantly, develop confidence in speaking.

Nothing I do in my social studies classroom can replicate the YIG experience. This is why I return every year with a delegation."
Melissa Tracy, Conrad Schools of Science
